We usually suggest visiting Jaisalmer Fort in the late morning, after a relaxed breakfast, and keeping the afternoons free before heading out for sunset.

In the desert, camps near Sam offer Swiss tents and cottages with different levels of privacy and comfort. Romantic desert experiences
A camel safari at sunset is the most popular choice for couples, with a slow ride across the dunes and a stop to watch the light fade. A private dinner on the dunes can be arranged on enquiry, with seating and menu details confirmed before booking.
If you would like a bit of adventure, a short jeep safari or parasailing session can be added, subject to suitability and weather.
Best time to travel
The cooler months are the most comfortable for sightseeing and desert evenings. Summer travel is possible with early mornings, long afternoon breaks and evening activities; we plan the timings around the weather on your dates.
Day-wise suggested itinerary
Day 1
Arrival and Gadisar evening
Private pickup from the railway station, airport or bus stand and check-in at your Jaisalmer hotel. Rest in the afternoon. In the evening, visit Gadisar Lake and the old town, with boating if it is operating. Dinner at a rooftop restaurant of your choice. Overnight in Jaisalmer.
Day 2
Fort, havelis and a desert sunset
Relaxed breakfast, then a late-morning visit to Jaisalmer Fort and Patwon Ki Haveli. After lunch, drive to the Sam Sand Dunes. Optional private camel ride at sunset and optional dinner on the dunes, then check-in at your desert camp for the night.
Day 3
Slow morning and departure
Sunrise over the dunes, breakfast at the camp and a slow check-out. Return to Jaisalmer, with an optional stop at Bada Bagh, and drop at the railway station, airport or bus stand.
